A Book Review

One of my favorite authors was offering up review copies of her latest novel in exchange for book pimping and reviews. So, here I am doing a bit of both. The book in question is Angels of the Deep by Kirby Crow and I'm going to keep this short and sweet and sans spoilers.

Beck Merriday only wanted a simple life, but that sort of peace always seemed to elude him. He left the FBI to become the police chief of a small town in Upstate New York to get away from a life filled with heinous crimes, only to have such crimes happen in his jurisdiction. The first eviscerated body found in the quiet town also seemed to have a message meant for Beck. Alas, it is not an ordinary serial killer that's hunting in Beck's town, but a being meant for one purpose: to kill and destroy. In the midst of his failing marriage and learning how to deal with the feelings he's developed for his best friend and one of his officers, Sean, this former FBI agent has to hunt down a killer the seems unable to be defeated.

The novel is another brilliant piece of writing with just the right blend of mystery, magic, and hot gay romance by Kirby Crow, whose Scarlet and the White Wolf series got me hooked (you all should check that out too if great gay fantasy romance is your thing!). I'm glad I got a chance to read the book and look forward to having a physical one in my possession soon. It's well worth the read and well worth the money I'm going to pay to get it.

I'd write something lengthier, but the awesomeness that is Angels of the Deep just seems to make me feel like any attempt to describe it in better detail would fail miserably.
